News Continued… Fundraising and team member achievements

We encourage and support our team members to achieve their personal goals throughout the year, whilst supporting the charities of their choice.  Our team have done a bit of everything, from running a marathon to organising a bake sale!

As a business, we also often make a contribution to the sponsorships to show our support for the individual and team achievements.

Here are just a few of our Team’s highlights:

Irish Dancing: In February 2019, Adele placed 5th in the Ladies Under 23 at the All Ireland Irish Dancing Championships in the INEC Killarney.

Cash for Kids – 5k a Day Challenge:  In February 2018, 4x team members (Vicki, Stephanie, Angela and Sandra) completed the Cash for Kids 5k-a-day challenge for 25 consecutive days.  Raising a total of £1,005 for the Cash for Kids charity, the ladies braved the winter weather and walked (and skated some nights!) to complete the challenge.  WPM are grateful to our clients and insolvency practitioners for their donations.

Belfast City Marathon:  As if 5k-a-day wasn’t enough exercise, Vicki ran the Belfast City Marathon in May 2018 and raised an incredible £1,685 for Marie Curie.

Sandra has also been training to run 5k and has currently completed 17x Park-runs and 3x Athletics NI events – Next stop 10k!

PIPs Suicide Prevention Charity:  Halloween 2018 saw a “bake off” of sorts!  All of the teams contributed their own baked goods for sale in the office, with the proceeds going directly to PIPs, our local suicide prevention charity.  As much as we all like cake, there was so much baked, that the sale rolled into a 2 day event!  Overall, we raised £615.36.

Treats & Buns

MacMillan Game Heroes 24hr Game-a-thon: In 2017, Peadar, our senior developer, became a “McMillan Hero” and forced himself to play his games console for a full 24 hours, meanwhile raising £450 for McMillan Cancer.

Christmas Jumper Day 2017: Watch PM held their Annual Christmas Jumper Day raising £350 for Cash for Kids, which aims to support the welfare of sick and underprivileged children in our community and giving the most disadvantaged a better and brighter future.

Strictly come Dancing:  Between 2012 and 2015, Stuart has participated in various Strictly events raising an amazing £4,000, supporting both the Make a Wish Foundation and Cause, a local charity in NI that supports care for families and friends who have experienced serious mental illnesses.
